Pahk the Cah in Havahd Yahd

Today I took my two visiting friends, Charlotte and Janelle, to see the sights around Cambridge. Our first stop was Harvard square. We got coffee at Peet's, looked at clothes at Hootenany, and even had an impromptu photoshoot in Harvard Yard.

We also spent a brief period of time in Somerville, just long enough to grab some Kick-Ass Cupcakes.

Prep School

Today was an awesome day, mostly because Charlotte, one of my best friends from home, is visiting for the weekend. We got up kind of early to get breakfast before my 12pm class, then I gave her a tour of Allston and Coolidge after a classy lunch at Qdoba. It was windy and cool but not cold, so I broke out my favorite sweater, which is also the one preppy piece of clothing I own.

Chillin in the BPG

The Boston Public Garden is arguably the prettiest place in the city, and definitely the best place for some outfit pictures. It actually looks like a dreamworld this time of year.

I am so totally beyond obsessed with this dress. I was hesitant to wear such a fancy outfit to class today but there are so few warm days left this year, I had to go for it.

A Very Veggie Thanksgiving

I'll never understand why my roots always look so blonde in the sunlight.

My Thanksgiving plate! Green beans, corn bread, mashed potatoes, and spinach salad with tomatoes, avocados, almonds and Parmesan cheese. It was delicious.
Thanksgiving recipes to follow!

Hot and Cold

Much like the weather, the lighting was weird at my place today so I had Monique play personal photographer outside. This was the best shot:
I'm not completely satisfied with the outfit, although it took a lot of effort to put these pieces together this morning. It was one of those days where you throw open your closet doors and don't see anything appealing.

Emily the Forest Elf

Today my roommate Nikki declared that I looked like a forest elf hunter. "Like Legolas" were her exact words, I believe. I guess it was the tunic-y top, tall boots, and all the green. What do you think?

I guess I was feelin Gondor a little bit today cause out of all 400 outfits I tried on before I left for class, this one was the winner. Good thing I love LOTR.

Photobomber! The infamous Nikki:
I hadn't started a blog yet when I first wore this top. If you're interested in how I styled it then, check out the look on my LookBook!

That's Dedication

Pictures courtesy of roomie Monique's camera. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about this whole camera breaking business but hopefully I'll be back in action sometime soon.

Insert f-bomb here

Yesterday my roommate Nikki and I went to Goodwill. I found three great things. Then I dropped my camera on the concrete and it exploded into a million pieces. These may be the last outfit shots for awhile.

Earth Cueca

About 5 years ago on my exchange trip to Chile, the other exchange students and I were forced to shakily perform La Cueca, Chile's national dance, in front of the entire student body of Trewhela's English School. The best part? Since there were slightly too few boys on the trip I spent most of our practice sessions dancing with our Chilean music teacher, Senor Ricardo. The performance was not a total disaster (we did the dance twice and repeated a couple boys so there were enough to go around) but my white button down, black pants, and prim bun were not well suited for the occasion. I probably should have gone with something a little flouncier, like this ruffled off the shoulder top:

Cool how my skin is the same color as the wall? Awkward.

Fall into Me

Due to the chill factor in B-town this weekend, I chose to wear a pair of jeans. Not just any jeans though. Today I chose to break out the pink jeans. Can I actually pull off pink jeans? You be the judge:
Oh hi, chunky ring, fancy finding you at the bottom of my purse:

pink jeans and black cardigan- Target (let it be known that this word is pronounced 'Tar-jay' and not in any other way that may be phonetically transcribed as 'Tar-git'. Way too classy for that shit here.)
