Hello and Goodbye

Today I saw Hellogoodbye at the House of Blues! They were amazing. I can't believe I came too late to see Sherwood though.
My favorite (and only) watch. I can't actually tell time using roman numerals, so it's pretty much just a really fancy bracelet. This baby is from Brighton Collectibles, the store I worked at in high school. I ogled it for an entire year before finally getting it. It's an investment piece:

My earrings are also from Brighton, although my massive, unbrushed rat's nest is obstructing the view:

Rose of Sharon Schoeller

This sweet little maroon number is one of the tops I got this weekend at our gigantic mall back in the VA. If you are ever in Northern Virginia, go to Tyson's Corner Mall. Best shopping you could ever imagine. Anyway, since my mom technically bought me the shirt and her name fits so perfectly with the theme of the outfit I figured I'd name the post after her. It's a good incentive for her to buy me more stuff. You're welcome, mom.

Modcloth is taking over my life again

Have you guys been on Modcloth recently?! If I hadn't gone on a 4-hour power shop at Tyson's Corner on Saturday I would whip out my debit card and order one or all of the following:
These would have been the perfect summer wedges. Too bad they just came out. Could any of you Bostonians imagine wearing these in the dead of winter? It's hard enough to keep my extremeties from falling off, even in heavy boots and my infamous cream-colored floor-length down NorthFace. It's actually more of a sleeping bag than a coat.
How prim. I'd add a brightly-colored belt to make this dress a little less matronly.
I first saw a bow tie necklace on Betty several months ago and fell in love with the look. Very clever.
I feel like this last skirt needs a poodle on the bottom. Maybe they could use this poodle.

Oh Virginia!

Whenever I think of my home state, a few seconds of "Oh Virginia!" by Blessed Union of Souls plays in my head. I was lucky enough to go back for the long weekend and it was a blast. It was also possibly the least fashionable weekend of my life. Here's a peek into my world:
I'm not a fan of carving pumpkins. One time I accidentally chopped off the tip of my finger cutting a lemon, so I don't think carving up an even bigger fruit is really all that safe. Good thing Sharpies exist, rendering all sharp tools obsolete:
I went to Markoff's Haunted Forest on Saturday night and was a little nervous about running through the woods in pointy-toe flats. Luckily my mom had some extra sneakers:

Polka

I'd be a liar if I said I didn't yank off these jeans and pull on some leggings immediately after these photos were taken:
No jewelry cause there was no time this morning.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a plane to catch!

Currently salivating over...

My dream camera. The Canon EOS:

If I had the money I would be all over the Digital Rebel XTi (even though the XSi, pictured above, comes in prettier colors. I am a woman of substance after all.)

I found a pretty good price for it on this site.

What do you guys think? Is it worth spending a good portion of my life savings on? The free shipping makes me feel marginally better about it.

Shoulders Back

No homo, but I think there's something really sexy about a woman's collarbone/bare shoulders. (Check out my 20th birthday dress to see what I mean). That's one of the reasons why I love the top I wore today: I can wear it as a normal shirt to class...
... then pull down the sleeves if I'm going out afterward:
I always like to wear a more delicate necklace with a look like this:
