T-Givs Weekend Outfits

The rest of my weekend was very relaxed. On Friday I went to the nursing home to visit my Nana. I added some interest to a conservative black sweater with a nice scarf:

And today I wore the only top I packed that was still clean:

A Very Veggie Thanksgiving

I'll never understand why my roots always look so blonde in the sunlight.

My Thanksgiving plate! Green beans, corn bread, mashed potatoes, and spinach salad with tomatoes, avocados, almonds and Parmesan cheese. It was delicious.
Thanksgiving recipes to follow!

La Vie en Ginger

My friend and fellow fashion blogger Emma is an incredibly talented writer, yet she refuses to pimp her own blog, La Vie en Ginger. So I've decided to do it for her by obnoxiously linking almost every word in this paragraph to her blog.

If you do check out her site, make sure to pay extra special close attention to this post about facebook, as she used a screenshot of my facebook as an example :)

Style Icon: Nancy Ajram

My friend Niely shared this adorable video with me yesterday. The girl is Lebanese pop star Nancy Ajram, and her style is to die for:

For all you non-Arabic speakers (or beginners who have a limited vocabulary, like me), check out the English translation here.

Curly Girl: A Non-Rhyming Poem

Having curly hair
Is always a challenge
Because sometimes it falls in long, soft waves
And other times
It turns into Medusa tendrils

If you like these awful jumping pictures, you may also like the outtakes I posted a couple weeks ago.

Paint it Black

Today I was an emo kid, non-conforming as can be:

I say that because this outfit reminds me of the Skinny Punk Phase I went through my freshman year of high school. Fortunately for everyone, embarrassing pictures of this time in my life do exist and I am willing to post one for all to see here on the infoweb:
5'6", and 118lbs-- 10 lbs of which probably consisted of my belt, 1000 necklaces, eyeliner (this was a rather tame makeup day), and nail polish.

I like today's version a little better. What do you guys think?

Where's Your Beanpot?

I'm actually a total poseur and have only been to 1 hockey game in my entire college career. At least it was BU vs. BC!
This vintage-inspired sweater is one of my favorite cold-weather pieces.

Pommes

Remember that time I told you I went apple-picking with Monique? Here are some shots from that day. A month later.
What a hottie. This apple looked like a butt. Not even kidding. It was a butt.
We found a tiny horse, too.

Hot and Cold

Much like the weather, the lighting was weird at my place today so I had Monique play personal photographer outside. This was the best shot:
I'm not completely satisfied with the outfit, although it took a lot of effort to put these pieces together this morning. It was one of those days where you throw open your closet doors and don't see anything appealing.

I've decided

that I've been letting my overwhelming amount of work take over my life for too long. It's time to start up the daily outfit posts again. Even if I decide to wear a stupid-looking sweater (purely for insulation purposes):
Or if my hair looks like a lion's mane:
Or if I can't stay serious for more than one second:
I've decided to take the good along with the bad. Let's let it all hang out, shall we?

weird sweater- REI (I usually only use it for running in the dead of winter but if I remember correctly the wind was out with a vengeance that day)

Unseasonably Warm

Was it gorgeous today or what?! I took this rare opportunity to wander around Boston and ended up at my favorite place in the city-- the Christian Science Center! I'm actually not Christian but I still really enjoy the architecture in this sweet plaza:

Stunning
This poor little pooper probably got confused by all the warmth and thought spring came 1000 months early:
Today's outfit was really nothing special. Do note the lack of jacket though. It's liberating not to pile on 3 layers every time you want to leave your building.
A gust of wind hit me just as the timer went off:

I got a lot of compliments on my gorgeous necklace. It was actually make by the incredibly talented Kelsey of A Kingdom by the Sea. Check out her etsy shop here.

100th post! Halloween edition

In honor of my 100th post I will bombard you with 100 pictures from this past weekend. Well, not actually 100 but still a lot of pictures. For the first night I was a cat-leopard hybrid type deal. I'm not really sure, it was kind of last minute:
Check out the shoes-- 5 inches! They really hurt and I could barely walk in them but they looked hot:On Saturday I went to a wedding with my friend Rob. I was stressing about what to wear to a Fall morning wedding, but I think I did a pretty good job putting things together:He was looking pretty stylish too in his little army suit:
I insisted that there be a shoe picture. He was amused:Then Saturday night I was an Effing Hipster, accompanied by a Greek goddess and a ballerina:
